This is a missionary project in its infancy stages. Birthed out of stories of the peril and heartache I’ve heard all too often from field missionaries during their trips back to the states.
The simplistic, quick versions is this: A missionary comes home for a few months to regroup, raise funds, check in with supporting churches or any reason really. While home they need transportation to get from one location to another and the immense cost to rent a vehicle only reduces the funds needed for projects back in the field. I’ve tried to helped some missionaries who unknowingly finance a vehicle only to find they paid too much, put on too many miles and are now thousands of dollars upside down (they owe far more than the vehicle is worth).
This ministry requires three things to get started: First, finances, a few believers with the generosity to donate vehicles; cars, van and pickups. Secondly, donations of time, some believers with mechanical ability willing to donate their time to keep these vehicles in a well maintained and running order. Finally, also finances to a lesser degree, believers willing to provide what it takes to purchase parts and supplies for those donating their time.
